On the afternoon of March 15, 2024,Dong Bingwu, Director of Innovation and Talent Development Market at Siemens(China) Ltd., Liu Qiang, Education Cooperation Manager for the East Chinaregion, and Rong Yayu, Senior Client Manager (Shanghai), visited the collegefor an industry-academia collaboration negotiation. They were warmly receivedby Li Yuanyuan, Deputy Party Secretary and Dean of the School of Electrical andElectronic Engineering, Wu Peng, Party Committee Member, Zhang Jing, PartyBranch Secretary, Tong Yanhui, Deputy Director of the Department of Automation,and Jiang Wenchao, the alumni affairs counselor, along with other facultymembers. The purpose of the meeting was to promote the development of newproductivity and to facilitate the collaborative cultivation of talent betweenthe university and industry.
Before the meeting, the attendeestoured the college's Artificial Intelligence Industry Research Institute andthe International Joint Laboratory of Intelligent Perception and Control,gaining an in-depth understanding of the college's research achievements andcapabilities in related intelligent fields.
During the discussion session, WuPeng, Party Committee Member of the college, introduced the overall situationof the college, including its education management, Party building work,discipline construction, student training, integration of science andeducation, and achievements in deepening industry-education integration anduniversity-industry cooperation. Dong Bingwu, Director of Innovation and TalentDevelopment Market at Siemens (China) Ltd., provided an introduction to thecompany’s specific situation and presented relevant needs. Both sides engagedin in-depth discussions on the modes, content, and future directions ofindustry-academia collaboration, reaching a consensus.Director Dong expressedSiemens' willingness to engage in deeper collaboration with the School ofElectrical and Electronic Engineering at Shanghai University of EngineeringScience, jointly promoting the development of new productivity and cultivatingmore outstanding talents. Dean Li Yuanyuan stated that the college will fullysupport the implementation of collaborative projects, actively explore newmodels of university-industry cooperation, and cultivate more talents withinnovative spirit and practical abilities for society.
The successful holding of thisnegotiation meeting not only deepened the understanding of cooperation betweenboth parties but also laid a solid foundation for future university-industrycollaboration.
